The employees of the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs underwent a basic mountain summer training course. The training lasted for three weeks at the training sites in Sachkhere and Chiatura, led by the instructors of the Colonel Besik Kutateladze Sachkhere Mountain Training School of the Ministry of Defense.
During the training, the staff of the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs studied: selection of mountain equipment, rules of its appliance and technical characteristics, movement on mountainous terrain in accordance with safety rules, organization of collective rescue and evacuation of the injured, as well as military-mountaineering and technical training.
Deputy Chief of Georgian Military Forces - Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Rector of David Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia - Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, Director of Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Police Colonel, Vasil Revishvili and other senior officials congratulated course participants upon the completion of training.
The graduates were awarded with relevant certificates and badges.
Joint mountain courses are regularly conducted by the Ministries of Defense and Internal Affairs within the framework of an inter-agency cooperation platform.
